Agree with both of the last two posts re Jordan. A handle on the whip could come in handy if Stringfellow appears.

Very light, delicate handles, actually thin strips of nettle that gently tie around hands...one can barely feel them but when the whip is thrashed it is LETHAL.....
Watch out Stringfellow....Jordan......

Bump - We thought this thread had been removed - but here it is on page 2. VERY difficult to find stuff when it can't be seen without ploughing through several pages Jxx

I began deleting my entries from this lovely, silly, light hearted thread as I wondered if it was the offensive post referred to. However, I have thought better of this and will leave the rest as I can find nothing which I feel is offensive to any other person on the forum. Correct me if I am wrong.

Well folks, what are we going to do now for Eleanor's retirement do? Will it have to be cucumber sandwiches and tea on the lawn with the vicar? Surely that can't offend (as long as we search Jean for hidden bottles)

Oh no! What will i do with all the life jackets, cabbages and nettle whips??
They are all stacked up in our library and aching to be used...
We'll eat cucumber sandwiches and sip tea whilst sporting the jackets, eh?

I agree with Mary, Eleanor and all i have deleted some posts (...work related ones) as now starting to worry where do things go, who might be reading.... but its not nice to feel like this :(
Anyway, on a lighter note - I have asked Hyacinth Bouquet to help with our festivities, she will be the ideal hostess and will make sure everything is in perfect order, she will make us lovely cucumber sandwiches, delicious cakes, pots of Earl Grey and she has already invited the vicar!
Lets hope Onslow (...is that his name?) doesnt appear though as if he does it's bound to cause havoc ESPECIALLY if he gets together with the wrong group of people - you KNOW the ones..... that never fail to get up to mischief!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

What a truly marvellous idea! I LOVE Hyacinth......but I prefer Rose! LOL
Not sure she'll approve of the sparkly cabbage leaves but they look fit for a Queen to me!

Well if this is what having fun costs then I'd rather not have it at all. This thread has made me cry with laughter and has kept me going in some funny odd way. My RA and related complications to my health has resulted in me becoming depressed and housebound, and much of my "socialising" over the past year has taken place on this forum.
I can't seem to understand what the problem is with having a joke and a laugh as long as it is not at another persons expense and offends. If this thread has caused offense then NRAS should have informed us accordingly. Similarly, I also believe that NRAS should have spoken to the person/s who allegedly abused the PM service before pulling the plug and thereby disadvantaging the majority who do not and use the service properly.
I'm afraid NRAS actions are beginning to feel a bit too Orwellian for my liking.......
Love,
Barbara XXXXXX

i'm fomenting revolt over on jean's thread, lots of us feel like this. as someone pointed out there, we have no idea which 'lighthearted' threads have raised eyebrows and are waiting for some clarification on the situation. i cannot, cannot believe it is this thread personally. don't let it get to you lovely Barbara, hopefully we can turn this into a storm in a teacup that proves productive in the long run.

i dont think it can be this thread Barbara - i find it impossible to read without guffawing with laughter.... although it has been the cause of many a strange look and head shake from whoever happens to be nearby... until they read it and lol'er than me!
I will be wearing a twinset to our teaparty - havent decided quite what yet tho', any ideas? ;)
